Learning and Development

Spectrum Housing Group is proud to have been awarded Investors in People. We recognise that our employees are our most important asset. It is essential we invest in the development of staff to achieve our corporate objectives, grow our business and to ensure retention of our best employees.

Your professional development at Spectrum takes different approaches meaning that our employees can learn and develop new skills in the way that they prefer to learn.

  • Our Management Development programme, 'Steps 4 Success', is designed to be flexible so that it meets the development needs of managers, from newly appointed through to Senior Managers and Directors and is accredited by the Institute of Leadership and Management.
  • The Breaking The Glass Ceiling programme is for women who want to progress their management career further in the Group and will consist of face to face workshops and events where you will be able to network and develop your skills for maximum impact.
  • Ours Aspiring Managers programme is for those who wish to progress into a management role at some time in the future.
  • Our Bursary Scheme supports people wishing to undertake a professional qualification.

There is a wide variety of workshops, training courses and events available in many topics including Housing, Business Skills and Generic Skills to support personal development. Many of these courses are designed specifically to meet our needs and are delivered by experienced trainers with specialist knowledge.

Courses are open to the public. Places are available to be booked starting from as little as £50 per day. These are mainly held at our Conference Suite in Christchurch.
